About
UT Austin students will be working with the Neighborhood Longhorns Program to provide virtual tutoring for 6th-8th grade students in a variety of subjects. Volunteers will assist Ms. Jo Garcia at Kealing Middle School, who coordinates the Young Scientists Program at the school. NOTE: All volunteers must complete a background check through Austin Partners in Education (APIE). See Requirement Details for full instructions.
Registration will close 48 hours prior to each tutoring time slot. Zoom login information will be sent to you prior to the start time of your shift. On the day and time specified, you will connect to Zoom for your tutoring assignment.
If you cannot attend the date you signed up for, please inform the event organizer as soon as possible. Thank you for volunteering!

- Under Opportunity, select Virtual Young Scientists
- Submit email and demographic info required for the background check
- Wait to hear from APIE about background check clearance
