To learn more about our volunteer opportunities, age limits, and available group activities, read below.

Volunteer age limits:

  • 12-15 years old with parent/guardian doing the same activity with them, the entire time under their supervision
    • Parent/Guardian must be a PACC volunteer and complete all on-boarding
  • 16 & 17 parent must do the orientation and tour with minor then sign a waiver for them to be able to volunteer alone
  • ALL activities have age requirements
    • Example: dog walking - 16+, parents/guardians are not permitted to walk with their children/grandchildren shadowing them
    • 12-15 years old are limited to Jump Starts, Enrichment, Fill the Pantry, admin assistance

Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Animal Handling - Below are a handful of ways that you will be able to train to assist our teams with animals in the shelter. These positions are dependent on schedules, availability in the department and skill.
    • Dog Walking
    • Dog Behavior Team
    • Adoption Counseling/Adoption Support Krew/Foster Support Krew (Dogs & Cats)
    • Cat Enrichment
    • Clinic (Dogs & Cats)
    • Admissions Support (Dogs & Cats)
  • No Animal Handling - These opportunities are for individuals that are interested in supporting our mission, but do not have the desire to handle pets directly.  Administrative support for each team is one of our highest needed areas of volunteering.
    • Lost & Found Team
    • Administrative Support Team
    • Marketing (Foster & Adoptions)
    • Admissions Phone Support
    • Rehoming Assistance 
    • Adoptions Data Team
  • Outreach – These volunteer roles are for you if you would like the opportunity to help our pets in the community get more supplies they need to survive and thrive.  Community members are given food and supplies at food supplies drive thru events.  During the summer booties are provided for homeless pets and in the winter warm blankets are also provided.
    • Animal Transportation 
    • Fill the Pantry
    • Food Drives at PACC
    • Food Drives in the Community
    • Microchip & Vaccine Clinics 
  • Virtual, Remote Opportunities -This pathway is a great opportunity for volunteers that are interested in supporting our mission, but prefer to volunteer from home!
    • Bio Writing (Dogs & Cats)
    • Foster & Adoption Marketing
    • Rehoming Assistance
    • Administrative Support Team

 Group Opportunities:

These activities are for companies, community groups, or families that are looking for safe volunteer options that have minimal training required.  Below are possible opportunities:

    • Fill the Pantry
    • Food distribution events
    • Donation Organizing
    • Kuranda bed construction
    • Seasonal Opportunities
